This is the second installment of the Lass of Legend series. I enjoyed this one even more than the first as it took us deeper into the forbidden love of Yvaine and Caelen. In this book, Yvaine is taken to the home of another Clan that her ruthless father wants to secure an alliance with through marriage. Yvaine protests but is made to capitulate once Caelen is threatened. Meanwhile, Caelen, aside from being heartsick, has other issues of his own to deal with. So much came together in this book, yet so much remains unanswered and unwritten. Can't wait to start the next!
So happy to read the story behind Yvaine, adopted sister of Keir from the Flames of Winter and Whickertons in Love series. I loved the way Bree wove her story. When Yvaine time-travels back to medieval Scotland she is understandably confused and believes she's been mistaken for the long-lost daughter of the Laird. I am so invested in the story, I've already read book 2! I will be posting my positive feedback for that one as well!! Definitely recommend this series!

While he's struggling with his new position and the guardianship, he also has a secret he's keeping. This is the second book in the series and we had met Lady Charlotte (Lotttie) in the first book. She had loved Quinton, her childhood friend forever, but after his father died and he became the Viscount, things between them changed. Quinton was under the influence if his father's best friend, that didn't believe in marrying for love, it showed weakness. Lottery being tge strong persistent person that she was, finally won her HEA. But getting to that point was one heck of a ride, very enjoyable reading. I received an advanced copy and I voluntarily reviewed this book.
A battle of the sexes transpires in this latest addition to the Lady Marigold's Matching Services series. Penelope much prefers to remain a spinster, but when she has a heated exchange with Sebastian, the Duke of St Cross during an archery competition, she is sent to Lady Marigold's Matchmaking services. Sebastian has no real desire to marry, but it is his duty to have an heir, so he cannot completely avoid it. When he meets Penelope, she ignites a certain desire within him, and he finds himself contemplating the possibility of marriage. Penelope agrees to marry him if he agrees to her wager and he wins. But if she wins, she will still be able to remain a spinster and live independently. As their competition heats up, so do their feelings for one another, and they both begin to contemplate the possibility of marriage. All done with humor and witty banter that made me chuckle more times than one, this book had me smiling and laughing out loud as the two challenged one another and struggled to overcome their initial reluctance to marriage.
This was an absolutely delightful addition to the series. I've enjoyed the previous books, and this one also did not disappoint! Penelope was a strong and spunky character and I very much enjoyed all her interactions with Sebastian, as she attempted to bring the prideful duke down a peg. Such a fun and entertaining read! Looking forward to the next one!
