Society’s rules were made to be broken.
England 1803: Lady Christina Beaumont, daughter to the EARL OF WHICKERTON, is not one to sit idly by while injustice unfolds. With her best friend on the verge of being sacrificed in marriage to a notorious scoundrel, Christina is determined to thwart the union. This man, a stranger to the genteel art of high society, possesses nothing more than a charming smile and a calculating gaze. His true ambition? To claw his way into London’s elite through marriage. But he hasn't met Christina yet. Her plan: orchestrate a rescue so daring it might just land her in the society columns.
In the game of marriage, love is the wild card.
Thorne Sharpe is a man who made his fortune in the shadows of society, rising from the gritty world of bare-knuckle boxing to the cutthroat game of investments. Now, with a fortune at his fingertips, he seeks a match that will grant him the social standing to effect real change. Yet, his intended is not the one who captures his interest; instead, it is her fiery friend, Lady Christina, whose scorn is as intriguing as it is incessant.
He crashed her plans, she stole his heart.
As Christina's schemes unravel and Thorne's plans take an unexpected turn, both find themselves entangled in a game of love and deception. With every encounter, their mutual animosity becomes strangely akin to attraction.
Christina must navigate the treacherous waters of London’s high society, all while protecting her friend and guarding her own heart against the very rogue she despised. Meanwhile, Thorne discovers that the line between villain and hero is as thin as the veil at the altar.
All's fair in love and schemes.
As the stakes get higher, will Christina's mission to save her friend lead her to ruin, or will Thorne’s pursuit of influence reveal a path to something even more unexpected—true love?

A very unusual story of a woman, Christina, doing anything in her power to protect her friend from a “ horrific match. Thorne is a self made man who wishes to army into the ton to help those who can’t help themselves. I loved the range of emotions that were threaded throughout. I did feel some of the writing was repetitive, but all in all an adorable, sweet story. As always, Grandma Edie is a feisty delight and I adored Samantha!
A delightful enemies to lovers romance. Christina is determined to protect her friend from an unwanted marriage but how far will she go and what will she do when she discovers he is not the ogre she thinks? Loved this story, the characters, the family element and the adorable little girl Samantha.
This is a nice story about a Heiress, Lady Georgiana who is tired of fortune hunters. She meets her best friends brother in law who together they decide to fake a courtship to keep fortune hunters away and to keep the ladies away from Joshiah. Joshiah decides he wants to get out of London and take care of the family lands, Georgiana loves London. How they will deal with each other and still respect what each one wants is the enjoyable part of this story.
I received an ARC of this book, and I am leaving my honest review.
This was a heartwarming story of love at first sight for Charles Beaumont, Lord Hawthorne. Attending his first ball, he’s instantly captivated by Beatrice, sensing that she’s someone special from the moment they meet. Even when he discovers she’s pregnant, Charles refuses to abandon his pursuit, regardless of his family’s opinions.
It was wonderful to revisit the Whickerton family, especially with the unwavering support Charles receives from his mother. Her advice to follow his heart highlights the family’s strong belief that a Whickerton only marries for love.
Charles truly shines as a prince among men, unbothered by the fact that Beatrice is expecting another man’s child. His only desire is to protect, love, and marry her. Though Beatrice initially thinks he’s mad and resists his advances. I loved that Charles does not give up on proving to Beatrice that he really wants to marry her.
This beautifully written Christmas romance is a testament to the author’s storytelling talent. The way she captures the depth of emotion and creates characters with such warmth and devotion made this story truly touching.
I received an ARC (advanced review copy) from the Wolf Publishing and I am leaving this review voluntarily, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
This was a surprising story. Sweet with wonderful characters, no steam. I don’t want to give anything away so I’ll just say I didn’t see what happened coming. I expected something different. I really enjoyed this book.
Josiah and Georgiana are at the Christmas at his brother’s country estate. To deter fortune hunters and determined ladies, they agree to pretend to be courting. They had no intention to actually become a couple, but walks, talks, and the joy of eating cake eventually lead them in just that direction. Cute story, daring kisses!
I thoroughly enjoyed getting swept away by Charles' and Beatrice's love story. It was great to read of Charles' mother, Edith Beaumont, Countess of Whickerton (a younger version of Grandma Edie found in other stories).
Charles has just arrived back in England and is attending a ball with his family when he notices a young woman fighting back tears. He is drawn to her immediately and wishes to help her, but she turns him away on several occasions. Finally, he is able to help her, and she tells him her secret--that she is carrying another man's child, another man who promised her his love but then turned away from her. Left pregnant and single, Beatrice and her family face ruin until her father arranges for his widowed and elderly friend to wed Beatrice to save face and their reputation. Now that Charles knows Beatrice's secret, he offers to save her, yet she refuses his help once again. This is where the tenacious and loving Edith steps in and smooths things over.
The only thing Charles wants must be won through patience as well as respect and kindness. Can he do it? Will love win out? I loved the way Charles was forgiving, respectful, and kind to Beatrice. I also enjoyed the characters of both Charles' and Beatrice's younger sisters that brought warmth to the story. And, of course, Lady Whickerton is an enjoyably strong, mysterious and kind woman who meddles to ensure her family's happiness throughout many of Ms. Wolf's books.
I highly recommend this book as well as the entire Whickertons in Love series. I received a complimentary ARC of this book and have given my honest opinion in this review.
