She’s been feared, branded, cast out. And still—she remains herself. Maeve Wallace has lived in exile, her telepathic gift both survival and curse. Called witch. Treated as threat. But when Laird Ewan MacDrummond pulls her from a river’s wrath, it’s not just her breath he saves—it’s something deeper. Something long dormant. Something daring to hope.
He’s burdened by legacy. She lifts him by truth. Ewan carries grief, duty, and the weight of a clan on edge. But Maeve doesn’t flinch. Her honesty grounds him. Her strength steadies him. In her silence, he finds clarity. And in her touch, a heartbeat he thought lost to sorrow.
The world fears what it doesn’t understand. But love does not fear. As whispers rise and prejudice stirs, Maeve must choose between hiding and standing tall. Ewan must decide whether tradition binds him—or love defines him. Because magic alone isn’t dangerous. Cowardice is. And courage, they learn, isn’t loud—it’s relentless.
She never asked to be different. He never asked for a fight. But together, they answer the call.
🌬️ If you’ve ever been told you were too strange, too much, too different—and longed for someone who sees you not in spite of it, but because of it… this story is yours.
Each love story in this series can be read as a stand-alone. However, most readers prefer to read them in order.

It was an amazing story of love and redemption after betrayal and abandonment. But I had already read it. I wish she would tell when these are not new stories.
Delightful story! I enjoyed finding out about how Charles Whickerton and Beatrice came together. Beatrice has found herself in a situation where she may be forced, by her parents, to marry a much older man. When Charles first meets her, he is determined to make her his own. This is a beautiful, romantic tale and I highly recommend it.

Another beautiful story by this intrepid author. I loved the previous books in this series but this one blows the others out of the water. Troy and Nora are such fabulous characters that you struggle to understand why they separated five years ago. Secrets & misunderstandings along with some twists and turns kept my interest from start to finish. I thought that Grandma Edie was wonderful! This is a fantastic story that you don’t want to miss, but it helps to have read the earlier stories, in order to understand the Whickerton family members.
