🍂“This book touched me in so many ways.”
🍂“I like the way the author addressed self esteem issues that are related to parents and society.” 🍂“I love the girls and Loki and the fairy dog!”"Aye, yer sister as well as my mother and grandmother, ready to prepare ye for our wedding." His brows rose, as though he were warning her of an impending doom. "Any regrets now?" Sarah laughed. "Do not even try to dissuade me, for it will not work." She grasped his chin and held his gaze. "You're mine, Keir MacKinnear, now and forever." She arched up an eyebrow. "Any regrets?"
Don't you dare voice any!
A rather booming laugh escaped Keir's throat, and it reminded Sarah of Duncan. "Never," he stated without a moment's hesitation, his voice strong and determined, not allowing for doubts. "Ye're truly one of a kind, lass, one of a kind."
She changed everything—but fears she’s not enough to hold on to it. Sarah Mortensen dared to rewrite her life. She defied a future she didn’t choose, rescued her sister from the same fate, and found shelter in the Scottish Highlands. But even surrounded by kindness, doubts creep in. She sees the whispers, the looks, the woman from Keir’s past who still lingers. And Sarah begins to wonder if courage alone is enough to earn the kind of love she dreams of.
He sees her strength—even when she doubts it herself. To Keir Mackinnear, Sarah is more than the woman who defied a broken system—she’s the heart that pulled him back when he was ready to leave. His clan welcomes her warmly, but not everyone is ready to let go of old expectations. One friend, in particular, doesn’t plan to step aside quietly. Yet Keir never promised his heart to anyone else—and he won’t start now.
Their path isn’t simple—but love rarely is. Between fragile trust and old loyalties, Sarah and Keir must find a way to stand steady in their love. It may not look like the fairy tales she grew up reading—but it feels real. And maybe that’s all that matters. Because some love stories are built not from perfection, but from persistence, and the courage to choose each other again and again.
Even when the past reaches out. Even when doubt sneaks in. Even when the world tells you you’re not enough—love quietly says you are.
If healing feels messy, love feels daunting, and hope feels distant—this book might be the balm you didn’t know you needed.
Some stories can be told in one book. Others cannot. This is one of those stories. For your full enjoyment we recommend to start with book one, FLAMES OF WINTER.

It was an amazing story of love and redemption after betrayal and abandonment. But I had already read it. I wish she would tell when these are not new stories.
Delightful story! I enjoyed finding out about how Charles Whickerton and Beatrice came together. Beatrice has found herself in a situation where she may be forced, by her parents, to marry a much older man. When Charles first meets her, he is determined to make her his own. This is a beautiful, romantic tale and I highly recommend it.

Another beautiful story by this intrepid author. I loved the previous books in this series but this one blows the others out of the water. Troy and Nora are such fabulous characters that you struggle to understand why they separated five years ago. Secrets & misunderstandings along with some twists and turns kept my interest from start to finish. I thought that Grandma Edie was wonderful! This is a fantastic story that you don’t want to miss, but it helps to have read the earlier stories, in order to understand the Whickerton family members.
