Their souls recognize each other across the centuries.

Scotland, 1801: Yvaine MacKinnear's life spirals into the echoes of the past when she's swept back to medieval Scotland, landing smack in the middle of a fierce feud between the rival MacLeòir and MacCarmaig clans.

When history and myth collide …

Suddenly declared the long-lost daughter of the formidable MacLeòir chieftain, Yvaine is thrust into a world of political intrigue and forced betrothals. Desperate to return to her tranquil island life, she must navigate the treacherous waters of her new reality.

Not even centuries could keep their souls apart.

Amidst this chaos, her heart finds an unlikely ally in Caelen, the brave son of the enemy MacCarmaig clan. Their forbidden love blossoms like a beacon in the storm, challenging centuries of strife. But with danger lurking at every turn and betrayal brewing within their own ranks, can their love survive the relentless tides of war?

He's the son of her clan's foe; she's the love he can't forsake.

Dive into a riveting saga where swords clash, hearts collide, and destinies are forged. Yvaine, defying every expectation, must decide if her love for Caelen is the key to peace or merely a fleeting shadow in the fog of history. Will their star-crossed love mend a fractured land, or will history repeat its bloody tale?

In a land of old battles, a new love rises.

Some stories can be told in one book. Others cannot. This is one of those stories.

“Are ye all right, lass?” Caelen murmured, jarring her from her thoughts. His dark eyes held kindness as they swept her face, his forehead furrowed in concern. “Yvaine?” He shifted upon his feet, his tall stature a looming shadow as he leaned closer, and then he reached out a hand as though longing to touch her face.

Yvaine tensed, suddenly overcome by the realization that Caelen—Caelen MacCarmaig!—was standing right here in front of her. Caelen MacCarmaig from the legends of old with eyes the color of a deep sky, and hair as dark as night. The sight of him sent her pulse racing. His powerful frame, toned and tall, exuded strength, and yet shrouded in darkness, a certain air of mystery surrounded him. Always had he been her hero—he and Yvaine both—and now...

This was a fast-paced, swoon-worthy read, that I found I did not want to put down! The story was fresh, original and exciting with characters that are realistic and likable. It is everything you could want in a rousing romp through the pages of a historical romance and more!

So happy to read the story behind Yvaine, adopted sister of Keir from the Flames of Winter and Whickertons in Love series. I loved the way Bree wove her story. When Yvaine time-travels back to medieval Scotland she is understandably confused and believes she's been mistaken for the long-lost daughter of the Laird. I am so invested in the story, I've already read book 2! I will be posting my positive feedback for that one as well!! Definitely recommend this series!

Caelen & Yvaine

****1/2- Yvaine MacKinnear travels centuries back in time to medieval Scotland. She is out exploring and the next thing she knows she is thrust into the past. She is the long lost daughter of the MacLeòir Chieftain. Why was Yvaine sent to the future? Why is Yvaine sent back into the past?

Yvaine meets Caelen MacCarmaig when he rescues her from his clansman. He is the son of the MacCarmaig Chieftain. There is an ancient feud between their two clans the MacLeòir and MacCarmaig.

Caelen and Yvaine are drawn together by an invisible force. Caelen is obsessed with Yvaine like a bee is to honey. His touch is magnetic and stirs her like no other. Can he be the Caelen from the legends she was told growing up? Is she his Yvaine who is his greatest love? Has fate brought them together? Yvaine wants to return home to the future. But can she leave Caelen behind?

They have great chemistry and watching them fall in love captivates the reader. They are both overwhelmed by their emotions. Their passion simmers and is ready to erupt at any moment.

The author weaves a story that captures your attention from the start. It is an enjoyable story full of adventure. The story keeps you on the edge of your seat while you continuously turn the pages to see what will happen next.

This is the first book in the Lass of Legend series. The cliffhanger at the end makes me impatient for the second book in the series. I look forward to reading the next book in the series! I received a free copy of this book from Wolf Publishing and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Present and past collide

This was a very well written time travel story. I was pulled into the story by the independent heroine and them when she travels back in time, it really has intrigue and drama. I was not aware that it was time travel or ended in a cliff hanger, neither of which are my first choice to read, but Bree Wolf's writing can change your mind. The next two books can only add more adventure and entertainment.

The first book in the book in the Lass of Legend Series. The start of Yvaine and Caelen's saga starts. A well written story that grabbed my interest from the start and did not let go until I was finished. The story is well worth reading with drama, suspense, twists and turns . I can not wait to read the next part of their story.
